Day 7

Here is some info about the medals ceremonies. Today’s picture is from the rehearsal for the medals presentations. Volunteers stand in for the athletes so that TV cameras can be checked to be sure that they are in the right spot for the best pictures. Sound checks take place as well. The people that carry the medals and flowers to be presented get a chance to do a walk through of the ceremony. This is done so that it all goes smoothly on TV.

I have seen a few athletes but none from Canada yet. Hope to see some soon. I will keep you posted if I do. BTW there is a lot of snow at the bottom of the mountains but no sign of protesters here in Whistler.

This is the team of volunteers that I work with. This photo was captured by Rick Etkin.

    Mr. Weston,

The volunteers that you work with look like a fun group! We were wondering what camera crews get to go up front first - is it first come, first served? Also, what has been your favourite sport to watch? Do you get the Canada red mittens as part of your uniform?
Thanks for keeping us up to date!

    Dear Mr. Weston,

We were wondering if you have seen any wildlife while you are out in the wilderness there- or have all the people scared the animals away? Is there a lot of good food there at the Whistler village? Are you at the Olympics for the whole duration of the games, or just part of it? Our last question: do you have any favorite athletes?

Thanks for keeping us updated on the inside view of the Olympics!!

    Hi Mr.Weston,

We were wondering what events have been your favourite to watch so far on the big screens? Have you ever tried any of the Winter Olympic sports before?

    Keep up the great blog!
